As ESA Technology Broker for Spain,
we would like to inform the Spanish space ecosystem — companies, research centres and technology developers —
about several relevant opportunities currently open within the European Space Agency (ESA) framework.
These opportunities combine a direct ESA call and, importantly,
a new national procedure recently activated by the Spanish Space Agency (AEE) for the first time in Spain.
- ESA Industrialisation Call
ESA has launched a call focused on industrialisation activities, aimed at strengthening Europe’s non-dependence, competitiveness and supply chain resilience.
Objective:
The call supports activities that move technologies towards industrial readiness, enabling scaling, qualification and integration into operational supply chains. It is particularly relevant for companies that already have validated developments and are seeking to consolidate manufacturing capacity, product maturity or strategic autonomy.
This is a strong opportunity for Spanish entities aiming to position themselves through reinforced industrial capabilities.
- New National RFI Procedure – AEE (First Time in Spain)
For the first time, the Spanish Space Agency (AEE) has launched a coordinated Request for Information (RFI) mechanism allowing
Spanish industry to propose activities of national interest within ESA optional programmes.
This represents a structural improvement in Spain’s participation model in ESA programmes,
enabling better alignment between industrial capabilities and ESA programme planning.
We strongly encourage interested entities to analyse these opportunities carefully and position themselves strategically.
The three RFIs currently open are:
